Here is a very important reminder when setting up your camper… if you have an electric option on your water heater
Do NOT turn on the electric switch to your water heater on until your hot water tank is filled.
The electric system contains an “element” that is designed to be used only when it is submerged in water. If you turn the element on before the water covers the element, it (the element) will burn out and need to be replaced! It is not the easiest DIY repair and could end up costing a bit of money.
Don’t take chances – the element only takes a few seconds to burn out!
